AI-Human Thinking

A research and training programme on hybrid cognition — what happens when human intelligence and artificial intelligence operate together. Encompasses PDT, CDT and ADT.

A research and training programme on hybrid cognition — what happens when human intelligence and artificial intelligence operate together. It is not an AI tools course. It is a discipline that does not yet formally exist in the market: the systematic study of how humans think better with AI and, equally important, how they do not lose their capabilities without AI.

It encompasses three sub-disciplines: PDT, CDT and ADT.

Programme outputs: whitepapers, frameworks, the book "The Cognitive Gap," courses, cohorts and playbooks.

Context & Strategy

How it was born

It arose from the convergence of three lines of work: (1) the development of the PDT and CDT frameworks, (2) the experience of teaching AI to students aged 14 to 18 at an elite international school, and (3) research into the cognitive impact of AI on adult professionals. The realisation that none of the three contexts had a solid methodological base gave rise to the research programme.

What it does in practice

It is the central academic and formative product of the António Martins ecosystem. In schools, it materialises as The Edge Program. In professional contexts, it materialises in programmes such as AI-Human Foundations, AI-Human Leadership and AI-Human Performance. The research produced feeds the books and whitepapers.
